For Prospective Graduate Students 

For the 2022-2023 application cycle (or application to begin in the 2023 Fall semester), Dr. Sekeres is available to supervise students applying to the experimental psychology program. As admittance into the graduate program is quite competitive, Dr. Sekeres seeks highly motivated, and dedicated students with applicable research experience(s).

Below is a list of qualities Dr. Sekeres is looking for in prospective graduate students:

  • Strong statistical background (demonstrated by good grades in statistics courses or experience with statistics in previous research projects) 

  • Applicable research experience within cognition and neuroscience (if available)

  • Exceptional academic standing (acceptance to the graduate program requires a minimum A- average for consideration of an application)

  • Plans to apply to external graduate scholarships on the federal (NSERC, CIHR, SSHRC CGS fellowships) and/or provincial level (OGS)

It is recommended to contact Dr. Sekeres before November as the deadline for the experimental psychology program applications is usually mid-December.
